Class Expectations
- Expect classes to run from 10:10 - 11:15 am on Sundays, unless noted otherwise. Regular attendance is expected.
- If you have to miss a class, let John or Richard know.
- If you miss a class or lose a handout, check this web site for the handouts you missed. If you cannot download a Microsoft Word file, contact Richard and he'll send it to you via e-mail as a text file.
- Confirmation class participants who are scheduled to acolyte on days when we have confirmation class should bring their robes to class.
- Athletes playing club sports should inform their coaches that they have a regular commitment until about 11:15am on Sundays.
- As you can see from the topics listed below, Fr. Russ has asked us to give the confirmands an overview -- a big picture view -- of the Bible. We will discuss different passages every week and discuss some of the highlights of the larger section of the Bible from whence they came.
Therefore, students should bring their Bibles and their folders to class every week.
- Students should also expect some out-of-class assignments. For example, all students must complete 102 Things You Should Know! by our class meeting on April 22, 2007. It must be completed if they wish to be confirmed.
- Fr. Russ has scheduled a Retreat Weekend (March 30-April 1), for the entire confirmation class-- during which we would explore a topic in depth.
Optional Items
- John has started an outreach mission for our kids: St. B's Mac and Cheese Club. The idea is that our kids and families will, on the Sunday before the First Monday of every month, gather at the church and cook Mac and Cheese to be delivered to the Ronald McDonald House for families whose children are hospitalized and need a place to stay. Some months, we'll meet a week early and freeze the casserole. The remainder of the dates for Mac and Cheese club are as follows: 2/4, 2/25, 3/25, 5/6, 6/3. (Note: if the Eagles are in the Super Bowl, Mac and Cheese club might meet earlier in the day on 2/4!)
- In addition, the confirmation youth group will once a month for fun and fellowship! Those dates for the rest of the year are as follows: 2/18, 3/18, 4/15, and possibly one more meeting in May.
- In addition, Father Russ invites the students to attent Wintercamp March 2-4, and Nightwatch May 4-5.
